SAN FRANCISCO -- Google Inc.'s Chrome browser can be used to surf the Web on the iPhone and iPad.
The Chrome application released Thursday is the latest volley in the rising rivalry between Google and Apple, maker of the popular mobile devices.

Chrome's debut on Apple's mobile system comes a month after Yahoo Inc. released a browser, Axis, for the iPhone and iPad.
