2 Rockets, 1 Falcon on All-MAC preseason team

Two University of Toledo players and one from Bowling Green State University are on the All-Mid-American Conference West Division team announced yesterday.

Toledo's Keith Triplett and Sammy Villegas and Bowling Green's John Reimold were among those chosen by the MAC News Media Association.

Triplett, a 6-3 senior guard from Bowsher High School, averaged 19.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game last season. He was first-team All-MAC.

Villegas, a 6-6 junior guard, was honorable mention All-MAC last year after averaging 13.8 points per game and shooting 40.6 percent from 3-point range.

Reimold, a 6-6 senior forward averaged 15.1 points and 4.8 rebounds and shot 39.9 percent from 3-point territory.

The other players on the West Division player were Eastern Michigan junior forward John Bowler and Western Michigan senior guard Ben Reed.

Named to the East Division team were Buffalo sophomore center Yassin Idbihi, Buffalo senior guard Turner Battle, Miami senior forward Danny Horace, Miami senior guard Chet Mason and Kent State junior guard DeAndre Haynes.

Toledo opens its season on Nov. 19 at Vanderbilt.

Bowling Green's first game is Nov. 20 at DePaul.
