It was a sweet senior day for Jonathan Amos, as the University of Toledo guard led the Rockets to a 74-69 victory over Northern Illinois on Sunday at Savage Arena.

Amos scored 19 points to go with five rebounds and five steals in his final home game.

UT took a four-point lead at the half and never trailed. The Rockets finish the regular season at 7-24, 5-11 in Mid-American Conference play.

Tyrone Kent, also honored on senior day, and Justin Anyijong each scored 15 for the Rockets.

It was also the final regular-season game for seniors Anthony Byrd and Ridley Johnson.

They wanted it, and everybody else wanted it for them, coach Gene Cross said.

You could see by the smiles on their faces when they walked off the court. It was a good feeling. We want to try to use this momentum going into the conference tournament.

UT will be the No. 12 seed for the MAC tournament, which starts Tuesday. It is believed the Rockets will face Akron, with the time to be determined.
