SAMSUN, Turkey — Two University of Toledo women’s basketball players led Spain to the country’s third straight U20 European title Sunday in a 59-53 win over Italy.
Inma Zanoguera, who averaged a team-high 3.2 assists to go along with 9.8 points was named to the all-tournament team. She had five points and six rebounds in the title game and averaged a team-high 27.2 minutes in nine games.
Elena Alfredo, an incoming freshman point guard, averaged 7.8 points in 19.4 minutes. She scored nine points in the final and was 23 of 24 from the free-throw line in the tournament.
