The University of Toledo’s men’s basketball team is on an 11-day trip to Greece. Justin Drummond, a junior guard, will provide daily updates of the team’s experience.

We woke up this morning and started packing for what we knew was going to be a long day of travel. We had a great time in Mykonos, and it’s a place that all of us will never forget. We saw some of the nicest beaches in the world, and we’re certainly going to miss it.

After our two-hour ferry ride to Athens, we jumped right on a bus for a nearly three-hour trip to Kimi. The area we saw was very different from what we’ve seen before. We saw a lot of fields where fruits and vegetables were growing. There was also one spot where there were fish farms in the water. We went up and down into different mountains with roads that had a lot of twists and turns through many small towns.

The atmosphere for tonight’s game was exciting. There was a packed house right when we walked into the gym. It was by far our toughest game. We started the game strong but Kimi battled back to within single digits right before halftime. They were fascinated with some of J.D. Weatherspoon’s dunks in the second half.

After the game their fans were very thankful for us coming and gave us a big cheer. We also took some pictures with them after the game, and we just want to thank the people of Kimi for coming out to see us.

We got in late to our hotel in Athens, but I’m ready to do some more sightseeing tomorrow in one of the world’s most famous cities.

UT 97, KIMI 64: UT concluded its exhibition schedule with a 97-64 victory.

Freshman Jonathan Williams and junior J.D. Weatherspoon paced the Rockets with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Julius Brown and Aubrey Williams added 12 points each, while Justin Drummond and Rian Pearson scored 10 each.
