Zanoguera leads UT past host Missouri-KC

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The University of Toledo women’s basketball team put on an offensive road show Wednesday night against the Missouri-Kansas City in a 96-81 nonconference win.

Inma Zanoguera pumped in a game-high 21 points for the Rockets (2-2) while adding nine rebounds. She was 9-for-11 from the field.

Andola Dortch added 15 points — including three 3-pointers — and a team-high four assists. Brianna Jones and Jannelle Reed-Lewis each chipped in 10.

Toledo built a 52-41 lead by halftime and continued to lead throughout the second half.

The Kangaroos — who fell in their home opener — were led by Calli White with 18 points. Eilise O’Connor had 15 points, while Taylor Leathers chipped in 12.

UT shot 51 percent (33 of 65) from the field to UMKC’s 41 percent (28 of 69). At the line, the Rockets made 23 of 27, while the Kangaroos hit 14 of 23.
