UT rallies to beat Detroit 80-78

DETROIT — Down 19 points with 15 minutes left, the University of Toledo basketball team rallied for a thrilling 80-78 win tonight at Detroit.

Julius Brown converted a three-point play with six seconds to go to give UT its first lead since 4-2.

Brown (10 points) tied the game at 77 with a tip-in with 37 seconds left.

The Rockets (5-0) will play Florida Atlantic at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the third and final game of the 2K Sports Classic.

Rian Pearson led the Rockets with 16 points, and J.D. Weatherspoon had 14.

UT trailed at halftime 46-34.
