Valparaiso University came through down the stretch to defeat the University of Toledo 63-61 on Saturday in the finale of the second annual Toledo Invitational at Savage Hall.

Valpo's Sharon Karungi grabbed an offensive rebound and put it back with 3.1 seconds left to break a score tied at 61-61.

A desperation shot attempt from halfcourt by the Rockets just before the final second ticked away was off the mark as time expired.

Janelle Reed-Lewis scored 12 points for the Rockets.
