YPSILANTI, Mich. — The University of Toledo women’s basketball team stretched its winning streak to a season-high four games Wednesday night with an 80-73 victory over Eastern Michigan.

Inma Zanoguera paced four Rockets (13-11, 8-5 Mid-American Conference) with a game-high 24 points. She was 10-of-13 from the field, including 2-of-3 from 3-point range, to top the 20-point barrier for a fifth time this season.

Andola Dortch and Brianna Jones added 14 points each while Janelle Reed-Lewis had 11.

As a team, UT shot 42.9 percent (27 of 63) from the floor to remain alone in second place in the MAC West Division.

Toledo finished with a commanding 50-35 edge on the glass, led by Capotosto with a career-tying 11 rebounds and Dortch with a season-best nine.

Natachia Watkins and Cha’ Sweeney led Eastern Michigan (14-10, 4-9) with 18 points each.

The Eagles suffered its seventh loss in the last nine contests.

The Rockets scored the game’s first eight points, forcing the Eagles into a timeout less than three minutes into the game.

EMU quickly recovered behind the sharp-shooting from Sweeney to knot the score at 14-14 with 8:58 left in the opening half. The Rogers grad knocked down a 3 and a pair of layups to help the home team erase the early deficit.

Zanoguera got hot and scored eight of the teams’ next 10 points to build a 22-19 advantage before halftime.

Capotosto sparked the late surge with a triple and layup to make it a two-possession cushion at the break.
