The I-75 rivalry is moving back to November.
For the first time since 2010, the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University will meet in the final month of the season. They’ll play at the Glass Bowl at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, in a tilt to be aired on ESPN2 or ESPNU.
The Rockets will appear on an ESPN TV or online production five times — four November mid-week games and for a Sept. 12 visit to Cincinnati.
Toledo, which has struggled in November in recent years, will play three road games in the final month of the regular season, visiting Kent State (Nov. 4), Northern Illinois (Nov. 11), and Eastern Michigan (Nov. 28). The NIU game comes eight days before UT hosts BG, meaning the Rockets will play the MAC’s two 2013 division champions in consecutive weeks.
UT opens MAC play on Sept. 20 at home against Ball State before hosting Central Michigan and going to Western Michigan the next two weeks. The Rockets’ bye falls between an Oct. 11 trip to Iowa State and a home game against Massachusetts on Oct. 25.
The Rockets open the season with home games against New Hampshire (Aug. 30) and Missouri (Sept. 6).
Defending MAC champion Bowling Green begins MAC play on Sept. 27 at Massachusetts and will play just three October games — home against Buffalo (4th), at Ohio (11th), and home against Western Michigan (18th). Seventeen days will pass before the Falcons go to Akron on Nov. 4. Sandwiching the UT game are home games against Kent State (Nov. 12) and the regular-season finale with Ball State (Nov. 28).
BG opens the season on Thursday, Aug. 28, at Western Kentucky before hosting Virginia Military Institute and Indiana in consecutive weeks. The Falcons wrap up their nonconference slate on Sept. 20 at Wisconsin.
