WHEELING, W.Va. - The Walleye scored three goals in both the second and third periods to post an 8-4 victory over Wheeling last night at WesBanco Arena.
The Walleye opened a 5-0 lead on goals by - in order - Ryan Stokes, Evan Rankin, Adam Hobson, and a pair from Justin Hodgman.
Following a pair of Wheeling scores, Stokes upped the lead to 6-2 on his sixth goal of the season. The Walleye's Mike Hedden and J.C. Sawyer made it 8-2 with goals in the third.
Chris Robertson and Derek Nesbitt each contributed three assists, and goalie Alec Richards stopped 25 of the 29 shots he faced.
Thomas Beauregard notched Wheeling's final two scores, upping his season goal total to 24.
