Walleye defenseman signs with AHL team

Walleye defenseman Russ Sinkewich has signed a player tryout agreement with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

Sinkewich, who played in college at Bowling Green State University, is in his sixth pro season.

The native of Westlake, Ohio has appeared in 20 games for the Walleye this year, collecting eight assists and 25 penalty minutes. He signed with Toledo just prior to the start of the season.

Sinkewich will be making a return trip to the AHL after appearing in one game earlier this year with Lake Erie.

In 63 career AHL games, Sinkewich has seven assists and 47 penalty minutes.
