KALAMAZOO – Toledo goalie Hannu Toivonen made 47 saves to allow the Walleye to rally for a 2-1 win over Kalamazoo tonight.

The Walleye trailed 1-0 late in the third period when David Gilbert deflected a Scott Arnold pass into the goal at 17:18 to tie it.

Then, just 20 seconds later, Toledo forward Pat Mullane scored on a penalty shot for the game winner and his first professional goal.

Mullane was reassigned to Toledo earlier in the day by Rockford of the American Hockey League.

Toivonen made 47 saves on 48 shots to improve to 3-4-0 this year. Toivonen made 17 saves in the first period.

But the Wings would collect the first goal of the game at 8:15 of the second period when Justin Taylor tapped in a rebound past Toivonen. Kalamazoo had 38 shots on goal after two periods.
