The Toledo Walleye are bringing back the face of the franchise.

The team announced today that forward Kyle Rogers, the Walleye's captain since the 2011-12 season, has agreed to terms for the 2014-15 season.

Rogers is the team's all-time leader in games played with 278. He also has produced the most assists in franchise history with 98. Rogers will start the season with 62 goals in a Walleye uniform, which is just three goals shy of Evan Rankin's record for the most in Walleye history.

“I am really fired up to get back on the ice,” Rogers said. “We can rebound and bring the great Toledo fans a winning team that they are starving for.”

Rogers said he is excited to work with new coach Derek Lalonde.

“He has a great hockey mind and will help take us to new heights,” Rogers said.

Rogers, a 29-year-old who was born in Philadelphia, finished last year with 34 points (15 goals and 19 assists) in 64 games. He will begin his fifth full season with the Walleye when the season begins in October.

Rogers will continue to climb the rankings of Toledo's all time ECHL leaders. He is behind only former Storm forwards Rick Judson (455) and Rob Thorpe (364) in games played. Rogers also ranks 10th all-time in points (160) and goals (62) and is eighth in assists (98) among Toledo's pro hockey players.
