Victory Center to present 14th annual benefit

The Victory Center's 14th annual Treasures fund-raiser will showcase a variety of wines and beers, local cuisine, and local art. The event at 7 p.m. Friday at Parkway Place, 2592 Parkway Place in Maumee, will feature live and silent auctions and art and dance demonstrations. Art from well-known local artists will be on display and foods from more than a dozen area restaurants will be served. The event will raise money for the center, which provides free therapies and services to cancer patients and their families. Tickets are $65 for a single ticket and $120 for a VIP package, which includes two admission tickets and two cocktail tickets. Information: 419-531-7600.

Pink Floyd tribute band Pink Droyd will play Saturday at Headliners, 4500 N. Detroit Ave. Pink Droyd was formed as a "super tribute" band, composed of veterans from other successful Pink Floyd tribute bands including Pink Voyd, Earthbound Misfits, and the Lennon Brothers. The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 and $10 and can purchased through Ticketmaster outlets and online at ticketmaster.com. Additional fees may apply.

Explore why your body produces mushy, oozy, crusty, scaly, and stinky gunk at Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body at Imagination Station in downtown Toledo. Based on the best-selling book Grossology, the exhibits uses animatronics and hands-on and imaginative demonstrations, to explain the good, the bad, and the downright icky about runny noses, body odor, and more. The exhibit opens Saturday and runs through Sept. 2. A members-only preview will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Reservations are required for the preview. Imagination Station is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $9.50 for adults and kids ages 13 and older. Children ages 3 through 12 are admitted for $7.50 and seniors 65 and over for $8.50. Children age 2 and younger are admitted free.
