Fantasticon returns to the SeaGate Convention Centre

    Collectors and enthusiasts are invited to stroll through “the ultimate comic book and pop culture experience,” as well as partake in trivia, contests, and panels and question-and-answer sessions with industry professionals. For a full schedule and list of special guests, go to fantasticon.net.

    Fantasticon is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $12 on Saturday and $8 on Sunday at the door, with discounted tickets ($8.50 and $5.50) available in advance online. A two-day pass is $12.50 in advance.

    ■ The Greater Toledo Train and Toy Show appeals to another sort of enthusiast on Sunday. More than 250 vendors will be on hand with numerous model train displays, vintage toys and more, as well as exhibits constructed of Lego, K’Nex and Erector Sets that are sure to appeal to both children and adults. It’s the 20th year for the annual show.

    The Greater Toledo Train and Toy Show runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Owens Community College Student Health and Activities Center, 30335 Oregon Rd., Perrysburg. Admission is $6 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. Collectors are welcome to come as early as 9 a.m. Early admission is $10.

    ■ The Toledo Craftsman’s Guild hosts its Spring Festival of Crafts on Saturday and Sunday at the Stranahan Great Hall, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd., giving local artists and crafters an opportunity to show off their springtime decorations and wares.

    The show is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Parking and admission are free, and donations of food and household items will be collected to benefit the Toledo SeaGate Food Bank. For more information, go to toledocraftsmansguild.org.

    ■ The Toledo Symphony Orchestra will perform Thursday at Sauder Village. The community concert is co-hosted by the Black Swamp Arts Council and Sauder Village.

    Resident conductor Sara Jobin will lead the orchestra in a variety of musical selections, including “Lyric for Strings” by Walker, “Carousel Waltz” by Rodgers, “Lord of the Dance” by Hardiman and “West Side Story Suite” by Bernstein. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Founder’s Hall, Sauder Village, 22611 State Rt. 2, Archbold.
