•Four County Career Center Cosmetology Clinic is open from 9:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 22900 State Rt. 34. Walk-ins and appointments accepted during these hours. Nominal fee to cover cost of supplies. Information: 1-800-589-3334, ext. 2234.


•Winter Storytime at the Delta Public Library, 402 Main St. for ages 3-5, 10 a.m. beginning Jan. 8; registration required. Call: 419-822-3110.


•Every Child Ready to Read Workshops, 1-3 p.m. Jan. 14 or 21, or 12:30-2:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at Evergreen Community Library, 253 Maple St. Free program for anyone with pre-talking, talking, and pre-reading children. •Swanton Public Library preschool storytimes 10:30 a.m. Jan. 8 through Feb. 12 for six months through age 5; "Up, Up, and Away" 4 p.m. Jan. 11 for grades three, four, and five, and balloon stories, games, tricks, and crafts, 305 Chestnut St. Registration necessary: 419-826-2760.


•Fulton County Democratic Women's Club meets 7 p.m. Jan. 7 at the White Lattice Cafe, 1290 North Shoop Ave. Officers will be installed. Information: 419-822-3636.

•Mountain Climbing Series for Better Diabetes Self-Managment 7-9 p.m. Jan. 10 at Fulton County Health Center, 725 South Shoop Ave. Talk by Rebecca McClarren on how the body functions with diabetes. Monthly fee of $5, no extra charge for support person attending. Call: 419-330-2772.

•Corn and Soybean Day from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Jan. 11 at Founder's Hall at Sauder Farm and Craft Village complex. Agenda features Emerson Nafziger, extension agronomist from the University of Illinois, who grew up in Fulton County. Twenty-six exhibitors with information on a variety of production inputs and services will be featured. Registration by Jan. 4 is $15. Cost at the door is $30. •Steers and market heifers nose prints need to be postmarked by Jan. 15. Exhibitors who wish to exhibit a market steer at the 2008 Ohio State Fair must have their steers and heifers nose printed.
