New Fulton County program offers food aid to elderly
2/16/2010Monthly food packages are available through a new Fulton County program for residents age 60 or older and whose total monthly income is $1,178 or less.
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture provides eligible persons with six-month refillable prescriptions for food.
The 40 to 50-pound packages contain a combination of fruit juices, canned fruit, canned vegetables, unsweetened cereal, pastas, evaporated milk, dry milk, cheese, canned meat, dry beans, and peanut butter.
