Sauder Village schedules 1st of 3 seasonal 'farm days'
5/4/2011ARCHBOLD, Ohio -- Old-time butter churning, clothes washing, and vegetable planting are to be among the highlights of Sauder Village's Spring on the Farm event Saturday, the first of three seasonal "farm days" at the Fulton County museum.
Bob Ford, a folk musician from Cedarville, Ohio, and a regular performer at the re-created pioneer village, is to appear. He is to perform on the Village Green at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. and is to give a 7:30 p.m. encore for customers of the Sauder Village Inn and campground.
"Bob's light-hearted performances always bring smiles and laughter from the crowds," museum spokesman Kim Krieger said. "His relaxed folk-song performance captures audiences of all ages."
Sheep-shearing demonstrations are to be held in the barnyard area, new baby animals will he on hand to visit, and historic garden tours are to begin at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Soap-making and cooking demonstrations will be held at the 1910 Homestead.
Sauder Village admission is $14.50 for adults and $7.50 for children ages 6 to 16. Children 5 and under are admitted free, as are older children on Sundays.
