The search for a new president for Lourdes University has started. During the State of the University address last week, Thomas B. Geiger Jr., chairman of the board of trustees, said the process for election and hiring of the university's ninth president has begun.

President Robert Helmer left this summer for Baldwin Wallace College in Berea.

Mr. Geiger said a presidential search committee of 10 has been assembled. The campus Web site, lourdes.edu, will be updated with information on this search as it becomes available over the next few months, he said.

Mr. Geiger said he hopes the committee will be able to start welcoming finalists for the position to campus at the end of January.
