10/2/2001

A “Rummage Across the Homeland” is being held this week to raise money for the American Red Cross disaster relief efforts in New York City and Washington.

Sponsors of the rummage sale are asking that people donate items to be sold. All proceeds will be given to the Red Cross.

The rummage sale will be at the Lucas County Recreation Center in Hall No. 1, 2901 Key Street, Maumee, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Items needed include clothes, furniture, and working appliances. Donations can be dropped off at the Rec Center from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and tomorrow.

Proceeds from concessions sold during the event also will be donated to the Red Cross. The county commissioners waived the usual fees for renting the hall.
