U.S. leaning toward withholding most military aid from Egypt

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration is leaning toward withholding most U.S. military assistance to Egypt except aid to promote counterterrorism, security in the Sinai Peninsula and other U.S. priorities, a U.S. official said today.

A second U.S. official said an announcement could be made later this week, though he noted that this has been repeatedly postponed.
