  • The Toledo Lucas County Public Library has announced three speakers as part of its Authors! program for the fall season.

Popular award-winning actor Sally Field speaks at 7 p.m., Sept. 25 at the Stranahan Theater.

Joining her in the series are award-winning journalist and author Wil Haygood and actor and now-cookbook author Tiffani Thiessen.

Authors! is presented by the library and sponsored by The Blade and Buckeye Broadband.

Ms. Field will discuss her new memoir Pieces, in which she tells the story of a challenging and lonely childhood, experiences with her Hollywood career, and her relationships. Tickets for her talk are $25 and are available online at eventbrite.com.

The events with Mr. Haygood and Ms. Thiessen are free, but interested participants are encouraged to RSVP through eventbrite.com for planning purposes.

Mr. Haygood, the author of the bestseller, The Butler, will engage in a Community Read with his audience involving his book TIGERLAND: 1968-1969, a city divided, a nation torn apart, and a magical season of healing, a tale of basketball and baseball championships by two teams from a black segregated high school in Columbus. The book has a local twist, as the basketball team played Toledo’s Libbey High School for the championship. His event is at 7 p.m., Oct. 4 at Bowsher High School.

Ms. Thiessen will speak at 7 p.m., Oct. 6 at the Kent branch library. A regular on the Cooking Channel with her show, Dinner at Tiffani’s, she will discuss her debut cookbook, Pull Up a Chair: Recipes from My Family to Yours, that dives into her life as a mom, career woman, and wife, and includes her classic-with-a-twist recipes and entertaining tips.

The Authors! program has been bringing notable authors to Toledo for more than 20 years.
