Pianist Yuja Wang will performTchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto in a Toledo Symphony Classics Series special-event concert at 8 p.m. April 17 in the Stranahan Theater.
Wang, winner of the prestigious Gilmore Young Artist Award in 2006, has performed with the New York Philharmonic, Chicago, Houston, and San Francisco symphonies, the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Japan, and the NAC Orchestra in Canada.
Carolyn Kuan, associate conductor of the Seattle Symphony, will conduct.
Tickets range from $10 to $60.

The symphony will present a regional concert at 7:30 p.m. April 18 in Clyde High School, Clyde, Ohio, with Chelsea Tipton II conducting. The Toledo Ballet will pay tribute to Marie Bollinger Vogt, founder and artistic director emerita, April 18 at the Valentine Theatre. "Reverence," directed by Michael Lang and Lisa Mayer, will restage many of Vogt's favorite pieces from more than 50 years. Tickets to the 8 p.m. performance are $25 to $35. Gala tickets, including a preshow dinner and afterglow, are $125.

"Movie Magic" is the theme of the Wood County Public Library's third annual Piano Birthday Bash, scheduled at 7:30 p.m. April 17 at the library in Bowling Green.
Pianist Michael Peslikis and vocalist Geoff Stephenson will perform movie-music favorites, and Francine Segan, food historian and author of Movie Menus, will discuss foodie film moments. Tickets are $15.

Pianist Steven Spooner will present a master class from 10 a.m. to noon April 18 and a recital at 3 p.m. April 19 as part of the University of Toledo Department of Music 2008-2009 Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series.
Spooner has performed around the world and is assistant professor of piano at the University of Kansas. Both events are free and will be held in UT's Center for Performing Arts Recital Hall.

The 37th annual spring performance of Cassandra Ballet of Toledo, "An Evening at the Ballet," takes place at 7:30 p.m. April 18 and 3 p.m. April 19 in the Franciscan Theatre and Conference Center of Lourdes College. Children and teens will perform ballet as well as jazz pieces with contemporary choreography.
Featured will be two classical dances and a sacred piece choreographed by ballerina and teacher Stephanie Wingard of Birmingham, Ala., who recently was a guest teacher at the school.

The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra concludes its 80th anniversary season with "A Grand Affair" at 8 p.m. April 18 in the Michigan Theater.
Arie Lipsky will conduct a program featuring Anthony Elliott on cello, Katherine Larson, soprano, and a commissioned work by University of Michigan composer Evan Chambers. Tickets are $10 to $47.

Teutonia Mannerchor and Damenchor, northwest Ohio's oldest German-American choruses, will present "Springtime Cabaret Concert" April 26 at Oak Shade Grove, 3624 Seaman Rd., Oregon. Matt Walicke will direct. The concert will include Carpathia Mixed Chorus of Detroit.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., with dinner served from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
