  • The University of Toledo is sponsoring a weekend-long workshop exploring baroque style and performance technique. The experience will revolve around an in-depth study of Henry Purcell’s The Fairy Queen.

The piece is a loose adaptation of the plot of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, composed three years before Purcell’s death. Considered lost, it was rediscovered in the early 20th century and since has undergone a number of revivals.
