UT finance official leaving for Stanford
Morissette

The University of Toledo's top finance official has accepted a position as the chief financial officer of Stanford University's medical system.

Daniel Morissette, senior vice president for finance and strategy at UT, will be the chief financial officer of Stanford Hospital and Clinics at the university in Palo Alto, Calif., effective Aug. 30.

His last day at UT will be Aug. 24.

Mr. Morissette was hired in January, 2004, as the senior vice president for finance and administration at the former Medical University of Ohio.

Prior to that, he was the senior vice president and chief financial officer of the Chicago Medical School and consulted for health care and other industries with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago.

During his time with UT, Mr. Morissette has been credited with playing a critical role in the merger of UT and the former MUO and earning strong and improved bond ratings on the institution's outstanding debt.

Mr. Morissette said he has had a wonderful experience in Toledo and that he believes the university will continue to strengthen.

"We have built a foundation here that will ensure the institution's ability to fill its mission for many years to come," Mr. Morissette said in a statement.
