Andersons to add sites to plant nutrient group

The Andersons Inc. said yesterday it plans to buy three pelleted-lime production facilities in Ohio, Illinois, and Nebraska for its plant nutrient operations.

The current owners are the Allen family of Allerton, Ill., who own the facilities of Mineral Processing Inc. of Carey, Ohio, the ASC Mineral processing in Fairmont, Ill., and Platte River Pelletizing in Weeping Water, Neb.

No purchase price was disclosed, but the deal is expected to be completed this year, the Maumee agribusiness said.
