Human remains found in rubble of Hardin County fire

KENTON - A landowner going through the rubble at the scene of a fire that destroyed a vacant house Monday in southeast Hardin County found what appeared to be human remains, the sheriff’s office said.
The discovery was made in daylight hours Monday in the 1400 block of Roundhead Township Road 55 near Hardin County Road 150, sheriff’s deputies said.
The house fire was reported at 12:27 a.m. and was extinguished about 2:30 a.m. by area fire crews, deputies said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation. Sheriff’s deputies released no further details as of 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The incident occurred about 12 miles southeast of Kenton, which is about 70 miles south of Toledo.
