2 Wood County businesses robbed by suspects with gun

BOWLING GREEN — Authorities reported two robberies at check-cashing business less than an hour from one another on Wednesday in Wood County, the first in Bowling Green and the other in Perrysburg Township.

According to Bowling Green police, a robber with a gun entered the Check into Cash store on South Main Street about 4:30 p.m., demanded cash, then forced an employee into the bathroom before fleeing in an unknown direction.

The robber is described as a white male, 30 to 35 years old, with a stocky build. He was wearing a white dress shirt, khaki pants with pockets on the sides, a black stocking cap, sunglasses and what appeared to be a fake goatee. He was carrying what looked like a black semi-automatic handgun.

Less than an hour later, an unshaven man with a handgun robbed the Advanced America Cash, 10089 Fremont Pike in Perrysburg Township, about 5:10 p.m. of an unspecified amount of money, authorities said.

The man was described as being white, tall, and thin. He was wearing a Michigan sweatshirt, sweat pants, and a ball cap. He was last seen running east from the scene of the robbery, Perrysburg Township police said.

There were no reported injuries, officers said.
