The Andersons, Inc.
More For Your… World.

Throughout all of its business endeavors, the company and its 3,000 employees are committed to providing extraordinary service with the utmost integrity.

A History of Diversification
Founder Harold Anderson was an idealist and a risk taker who understood the grain business and knew he could serve the farmer better. In his wildest dreams he could not have imagined that the 500,000 bushel elevator terminal in Maumee he and his family built in 1947, would evolve into one of the largest grain operations in North America. Toledo's deep water port, centralized rail switch center, and excellent crossroad highway system provided the company with a complete transportation package required for international trade. Harold's innovative plans charted the course for the company to diversify into a number of related businesses. Currently, the company has operations in 12 states as well as Puerto Rico and railcar fleets extending into Canada and Mexico.

Agribusiness
With The Andersons’ roots firmly planted in agribusiness, the company currently operates grain elevators, fertilizer distribution terminals, and farm centers in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Florida. Collectively, these facilities trade and merchandise 250 million bushels of grain and nearly 2 million tons of dry and liquid agricultural nutrient products annually.

The Andersons prides itself on its ability to meet customer needs. A variety of risk management and marketing services provide customers with flexibility in pricing and support for managing commodity risks that they cannot find elsewhere in the marketplace. Agricultural dealers and growers also receive a consistent, competitive supply of crop nutrient products, along with a dependable partner to handle, store and condition grain to accommodate their specific needs. Providing profitability to customers while also affording benefits to the environment is an ideal combination for The Andersons.

Entering the ethanol industry in recent years was a logical extension for The Andersons based on the company’s rich history in grain markets. The company operates three ethanol plants for respective LLCs in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio that are collectively capable of producing 275 million gallons of ethanol. The company also offers facility operations, risk management, corn origination, ethanol and distiller dried grains marketing to its own LLCs as well as third parties.

For more than 30 years The Andersons has produced and distributed a wide assortment of liquid and dry industrial products. A wide range of industrial products are manufactured, handled and distributed in bulk or packaged containers including nitrogen reagents, as well as de-icers and anti-icers for airport runways, roadways, commercial sidewalks and parking lots. Just recently, the company also has become the largest producer of pelleted lime products in the United States.

Railcar Management & Leasing
After decades of managing, maintaining and repairing its own fleet of railcars, The Andersons decided to put its experience to work for outside customers and today ranks seventh among privately-owned railcar fleets in North America. The Andersons repairs, sells, manages, and leases various types of railcars and locomotives, offers fleet management services to private railcar owners, operates a custom steel fabrication business and seven railcar repair facilities across the United States.

The Andersons has the ability to design and fabricate components, reconfigure the railcars, then sell or lease the refurbished cars to its customers. With portions of its fleet located in Canada and Mexico as well as the United States, the rail operations have become an international business.

Turf & Specialty Products
Countless golf courses across America owe their beautiful fairways and gorgeous tees and greens to The Andersons Golf Products - premium turf-care products. The Andersons is one of the industry's leading suppliers of turf and ornamental plant fertilizer and control products. Its flagship brand, ContecDG, is a premium small particle granular fertilizer produced from a combination of premium turf nutrients, patented dispersing granule technology and a special manufacturing process providing exceptional results for the golf course industry.

“Turn a minus into a plus,” Harold Anderson loved to say. That philosophy led to the development of The Andersons corncob-based products. These corn byproducts are primarily produced for small animal bedding, cat litter and chemical and feed ingredient carriers.

More For Your Home®
A distinctive mix of products, reputation for value, and excellent customer service make The Andersons a strong competitor in the crowded retail market. The first Warehouse Market opened in 1952, selling supplies to customers for backhaul to their farms. Today, the company operates six stores in Ohio, offering a broad More For Your Home® blend of consumer products and services, from windows to fine wines.

With one location in Sylvania, The Andersons Market is a specialty food store with a customer experience around food, fun and a fresh product offering. The market focuses on fresh, natural, organic and whole foods with extensive meat, wine and produce selections.

Commitment to Community
Giving back to the community was very important to Harold and Margaret and the company continues to carry on this important legacy. The Andersons believes in generously sharing time, talents and financial resources to support and strengthen the communities they serve, as well as contributing a reasonable portion of its profits to charitable causes “in pursuit of our fundamental goal of serving God by serving others.”

The Andersons general offices are located at 480 Dussel Drive, Maumee. For more information call 419-893-5050 or visit the company online at www.andersonsinc.com.
