Grammy Award-winner Peter Cetera will join the Toledo Symphony, conducted by Chelsea Tipton II, in a pops concert at 8 p.m. March 7 in the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd.

Marilyn Mason, professor of organ at the University of Michigan, will perform at 3 p.m. March 15 as part of the Cathedral Concert Series in Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral. 2535 Collingwood Blvd. The program will feature "Le Chemin de la Croix" by Marcel Dupr. A pair of dance events are scheduled March 7 in Central Catholic High School, 2250 Cherry St. From 9 a.m. to noon, the Ohio State University Dance Team will present a workshop for dancers age 8 and up.

At 7:30 p.m., the second annual Toledo Area Dance Competition, featuring dance teams from area high schools, takes place. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students, available at the door.

Chamber Music Toledo continues its 2009-10 series with pianist Frances Renzi and clarinetist Arthur Campbell presenting a recital at 3 p.m. March 8 in the Maumee Indoor Theater, 601 Conant St., Maumee.

On the program will be music by Johannes Brahms, Francis Poulenc, and Claude Debussy. Renzi is a professor of music emerita from the University of Toledo, and Campbell is on the faculty of Grand Valley State University in Michigan. Pianist Ivana Tjandra presents a recital at 8 p.m. March 5 in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center at Bowling Green State University.

The Springfield Schools Foundation will host a Sunday Music Sampler at 3 p.m. March 8 in First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo, 6509 Pilliod Rd., Holland. Featured will be Lynda Dunn, professor emeritus of music at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn.; Jeanne O'Donnell, director of music ministries at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Maumee; and the Tu-Ba Fours of Defiance, which is composed of Dale Schubert, Scott Rogers, Jim George, and Karl Rosina. Several notable artists will perform at the University of Michigan in the coming weeks.

•Lorin Maazel conducts the New York Philharmonic in two programs in Hill Auditorium, 825 North University Ave., Ann Arbor. At 8 p.m. March 7, the orchestra will present Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition," as well as works by Felix Mendelssohn and Robert Schumann. Tickets range from $10 to $125. At 7 p.m. March 8, the program will feature Igor Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring," plus works by Peter Tchaikovsky and Hector Berlioz. Tickets range from $10 to $100.

•Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra perform at 8 p.m. March 10, also in Hill Auditorium. On the program will be works by Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, and other Blue Note Record greats. Tickets range from $10 to $54.

•The Brentano String Quartet, with pianist Peter Serkin and baritone Thomas Meglioranza, is scheduled at 8 p.m. March 11 in Rackham Auditorium, 915 East Washington St. The program includes classics by Joseph Haydn, Arnold Schoenberg, and Ludwig van Beethoven, as well as Charles Wuorinen's New Piano Quintet, which had its premiere last June. Tickets range from $20 to $42. This is a Classical Kids Club performance, and parents may purchase up to two tickets at $10 each for children in grades 1-9 with a paid adult admission. Thomas Wilkins conducts the Detroit Symphony in a concert with the theme of "Classical Roots" at 8 p.m. March 6, 8:30 p.m. March 7, and 3 p.m. March 8 in Orchestra Hall of the Max M.
