Mich. man killed in morning crash

ADRIAN — A Riga, Mich. man was killed early Saturday morning when the car he was driving crashed into a tree southeast of here in Lenawee County’s Palmyra Township, the sheriff’s office said.

Alejandro Francisco Garza, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Palmyra Road south of Deerfield Road.

Mr. Garza was southbound on Palmyra about 5:15 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the north side of the road, hitting the tree, sheriff’s deputies said.

A passenger in his car, Justin Conger, 21, of Samaria, Mich. was flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. He is in serious condition, a hospital spokesman said.
