2 hurt as motorcycle swerves for deer, crashes
FINDLAY - A motorcyclist and his passenger were hurt when the driver swerved to avoid a deer on Township Road 148 about 12 miles south of Findlay, the Hancock County Sheriff's office said.
Jason Brandt, 45, of Forest, Ohio, was eastbound about 8 p.m. Saturday.
He laid the motorcycle down on the roadway when he swerved to avoid the deer, authorities said.
He and passenger Debra Brandt, 46, also of Forest, were thrown from the motorcycle. Neither wore a helmet, the sheriff's office said. They were treated at Blanchard Valley Hospital.
The sheriff's office said Mr. Brandt's blood alcohol level was over the legal limit, and charged him with operating a vehicle under the influence and operation without reasonable control.
