Findlay motorcyclist killed in crash

FINDLAY -- A 41-year-old Findlay man died Friday night after his motorcycle collided with a sport-utility vehicle near Bloomdale, Ohio.
Brian Smith was pronounced dead at the crash scene, which was at State Rt. 18 and Township Road 85 eight miles northeast of Findlay, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.
Mr. Smith was southbound on State Rt. 18 about 6:25 p.m. when a vehicle driven north by Scott Chandler, 20, of North Fairfield, tried to make a left turn from State Rt.18 onto Township Road 85, troopers said.
Troopers said Saturday they did not know if Mr. Smith had been wearing a helmet.
Mr. Chandler was not injured.
