Williams County listed among most-pained
NEW YORK — Northwest Ohio’s Williams County was among U.S. communities of at least 25,000 residents suffering the most financial pain in May, according to a national survey.
Among states, California, Michigan, and South Carolina led the nation as unemployment, home foreclosures, and bankruptcies rose, according to the Associated Press’ monthly analysis of economic stress in more than 3,100 U.S. counties.
Listed along with Williams County as suffering the sharpest increases in stress scores over the past year were Indiana’s Elkhart, Pennsylvania’s Huntingdon, Indiana’s Howard, South Carolina’s Union, and Indiana’s Noble.
