Mud Hens hand Indians loss, head home for finale
INDIANAPOLIS - The Mud Hens scored single runs in the fifth and eighth innings to post a 2-1 comeback victory over Indianapolis last night.
With the game tied at 1 in the eighth inning, Brent Clevlen and Jeff Frazier singled. With one out, Clevlen scored the game-winning run on Maxwell Leon's ground out.
Toledo banged out 10 hits. William Rhymes, Scott Sizemore, Clevlen, and Frazier all had two hits apiece.
The Hens trailed 1-0 going into the fifth inning. Keith Hernandez reached on a fielding error. He then scored on Sizemore's soft single to right field with two outs.
Mud Hens starter Ryan Ketchner, who was promoted to Toledo from Single-A Lakeland on Saturday, earned his first Triple-A victory. Ketchner pitched seven innings and gave up just five hits and one earned run. He also struckout four.
Reliever Zach Simons pitched the final two innings. Simons earned his first save giving up three hits and striking out a batter. The Mud Hens (70-68) return to Toledo for the final two home games of the season.
