The “creative inferno” of Brains and Butter started off with a bang Saturday night with its premier event, “Patio Paw-Ty” by the pool at Stone Oak Country Club. Created by Derek Feniger, president, Brains and Butter is a full-service media/production company.

Mr. Feniger, who sells steel all day at Universal Metals, helped start Brains and Butter as a result of the Focus on Young People group for fun and charity. “Our goal was to show Toledo the creative inferno we have put together ... I also have made it a priority to do or help in any way, shape or form to keep Toledo growing to the greatness I have always believed in,” he said.

More than $10,000 was raised for the Toledo Area Humane Society, and every attendee brought food and care items for furry friends — so much that it filled a truck!

Back at the party, which cost $20 per person to attend, a red-carpet entrance with paparazzis' flashing cameras greeted about 200 guests at the pool-side patio where there was a gourmet cookout and a cash bar in the perfect weather.

For football fans, a huge TV screen aired the Ohio State/USC game. Live entertainment was provided by noted vocalist Dal Bouey. There was also a chance to adopt a pet. Fireworks added the final spark to the evening.
