Northwest Ohio being hit hard by high winds
BLADE STAFF
Many northwest Ohio counties are under high wind advisories until 5 a.m. Tuesday and the National Weather Service predicts winds in the area could get as high as 50 miles per hour.
The storm that swept through the area Monday morning caused the a utility pole to split at its base, falling across the roadway in a 45-degree angle in the 7300 block of Coder, Monclova Township Deputy Fire Chief Michael George said.
The road is now closed between Maumee Western and Monclova roads, but crews are working to reopen the stretch before the end of the workday on Monday.
