New head of Mercy Health Partners is introduced

A reception for Andrea Price, new chief operating officer of Mercy Health Partners, was Sept. 29 at the Toledo Club.

Ms. Price, 50, brings 25 years of health care experience to the job, said Steven Mickus, president and CEO of Mercy.

HOPE was the spirit Oct. 1 in celebration of the new Center for Equal Justice. Under a big tent outside the building at Huron and Jefferson streets across from the new Lucas County Arena, champagne flowed and dinner was served to 250 guests followed by a program and entertainment with And Justice for All featuring vocalist Nate Gurley.

Emcee U.S. District Court Judge David Katz beamed with pride at the new facility. The purchase and renovation of the building is the result of a $6.1 million fund-raising campaign.

Speakers included board member David Ward, who was involved in the capital campaign, Joe Tafelski, executive director of Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, and Kevin Mulder, executive director of Legal Aid of Western Ohio. Special guest speaker was Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher. A donors wall was unveiled by contributor Fran Anderson and dual board president Laurie Pangle, an attorney at Spengler Nathanson.
