Nicholas C. Conrad has been named vice president, finance, and treasurer for The Andersons Inc., Maumee, effective Nov. 1, replacing Gary L. Smith, who is retiring. In addition, the company has named a new board member, John T. Stout, Jr., chief executive officer of private equity firm Plaza Belmont Management Group LLC of Shawnee Mission, Kan.

Gary M. Sartain and Bret J. Clark have been promoted to partner with Weber O’Brien Ltd., a CPA firm in Sylvania.

The Lucas County Arena’s construction management firm, Maumee-based Lathrop Co., has been honored by Midwest Construction Magazine with a 2009 sports/recreation “Project of the Year” for construction excellence.
