1 dead in collision near airport

A Swanton Township woman was killed on Airport Highway Friday when she drove her sport utility vehicle into the rear of a tractor-trailer rig stopped to make a turn, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Ashley Snyder, 20, of 2986 U.S. 20A, died at the scene, troopers from the Toledo post said.
Troopers said she was driving east on Airport, also known as State Rt. 2, and struck the rear of an eastbound rig stopped to turn north on Berkey-Southern Road at about 12:20 p.m.
The truck driver, Richard Lecki, 54, of 5710 Clover Ln., Walbridge, was not injured.
