Country performer Justin Moore will appear at 8 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Erie Street Theater, 237 South Erie St. The singer/songwriter has opened for Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, and ZZ Top. His recordings include "Back That Thing Up," and "Small Town USA." Opening the show will be Rodney Parker & Liberty Beach. Tickets are $15 in advance from 800-514-ETIX, $16.50 the day of show, and $25 for VIP seating.

Local guitarist and composer Jason Quick is presenting and performing in a Jazz Composer's Concert at 8 p.m. Nov. 17 at Manhattan's, 1516 Adams St. The concert features original works by Toledo-area jazz composers. Tickets are $10 at the door. Information, 419-243-6675.

On Tuesday, the BeInstrumental Foundation, a Toledo-based nonprofit organization, will hold a musical instrument drive and scholarship fund-raiser from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Manhattan's. It will include a wine-tasting and a jazz concert to benefit local aspiring musicians. Jazz guitarist Damen Cook will headline the evening of music, gourmet food, and wine courtesy of Manhattan's and Uptown Vineyard. Tickets are $25, with proceeds supporting the scholarship fund.

The public may drop off new or used instruments at the restaurant beginning at 5 p.m.The instruments will be refurbished and offered free of charge to local inner-city schools and community organizations. Information and reservations from Jeff Green at 567-343-2274 or green@beinstrumental.org.

The 1970s band Rare Earth, known for their classics hits, "I Just Want to Celebrate," "Losing You," and "Get Ready," will bring its Motown rock and funk sound to the La-Z-Boy Center at Meyer Theater at Monroe County Community College, 1555 South Raisinville Rd., Monroe, for a performance at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14. Reserved seating is $17, and $27 for VIP seating from 734-384-4272.

The Blade and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library present social and political satirist Christopher Buckley as the next speaker in the Authors! Authors! series, to be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 in the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd. Buckley is the author of 13 books, including his 2008 bestseller Supreme Courtship. Buckley serves as editor-in-chief of Forbes FYI magazine. Tickets are $10, $8 for students from 419-259-5266 or any library location.
