3 injured in collision on Maumee-Western Road

Three people were seriously hurt Friday in a head-on crash on Maumee-Western Road in Monclova Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Lawrence Ochu, 70, and his passenger, Merritt Ochu, 34, were taken to Toledo Hospital, troopers said. The hospital had no information on them.

Kathleen Ferguson, 53, of Toledo, was taken to University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly Medical College of Ohio Hospital, where no condition was available.

Troopers said Ms. Ferguson was driving west on Maumee-Western near Weckerly Road at 10:30 a.m. and struck the eastbound Ochu vehicle when she went left of center to avoid a stopped pickup partly blocking her lane. The Ochu vehicle went off the road and overturned.
