Circus animals to parade through downtown Toledo
BLADE STAFF
Area residents can get a glimpse Monday night of the animals that will be featured in this week's four-day show by the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus at the new Lucas County Arena.
The mile-long circus train is expected to arrive at the Amtrak station on Emerald Avenue at approximately 8:30 p.m., and then the animals will be led through neighboring streets to the arena, where Over the Top, an all-new live show will be held from Wednesday through Sunday.
Featured in the Animal Walk will be Asian elephants and horses, including Fresians, Arabians, American Paints, and Norwegian Fjords.
Although the time could change because of unpredictable train schedules, the plan now is for the animal walk to start at the Amtrak Depot at 435 Emerald Ave., continue on Morris Street, turn northeast on Broadway Street, and then north on Ottawa Street, and west on Monroe Street.
The route will turn north on Water Street and west on Jefferson Avenue, ending at the Lucas County Arena.
