Luna Pier man killed in car crash

La SALLE, Mich. - A Luna Pier man was killed yesterday when his car left a road and hit a tree, Michigan State Police said.

Roger Ritchey, whose age was not available, was declared dead at the scene on Kelly Road about a half-mile east of Laginess Road after the 3:30 p.m. crash, troopers said. An unidentified passenger was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

Mr. Ritchey was eastbound on Kelly when his car went off the road at a curve and hit the tree, troopers said. The crash remains under investigation.
