If fantasy football is your game, The Loose Piggy chitchat forum on toledoblade.com is the place to be to discuss drafts, stats, trades, and injury updates.
(2:00 P.M. ET) Hello fantasy football fans! Welcome again to the The Loose Piggy on toledoblade.com.
(2:03 P.M. ET) Week 4 in the NFL means BYE weeks for Dallas, Detroit, Minnesota, and Seattle – so make sure you check your bench for those needed changes. We’ll get into the questions and comments right now.
L Cap Do you think Ricky Williams will ever come back to pro-football?
(2:06 P.M. ET) Sure, when he runs out of money.
Abby Is Priest Holmes ready to stay healthy? He didn’t look too hurt this past Sunday.
(2:12 P.M. ET) Priest Holmes played through the pain last week and we think he’s a safe start this week, although that linebacker named Ray Lewis may be looking to test the threshold of his pain tolerance.
Robert F, Toledo, OH Are there any backup plans, if the eneries continue with the browns?
(2:19 P.M. ET) A high draft pick in 2005 and spell check for their, oops… no… your email program.
Keith B Who is favored? Culpepper or McNabb.
(2:27 P.M. ET) This week that’s a very easy question as Culpepper is on a BYE – so don’t start him. McNabb is going against the Bears and is a great start. Long term, we would prefer Culpepper.
Mike, Stryker, OH Hey loose piggy. Who’s your sleeper player this weekend?
(2:32 P.M. ET) Jennifer Aniston. No, no, no… sorry, wrong fantasy. Here’s what we really think: Look for Kevan Barlow to have big numbers as San Francisco must keep the ball on the ground and shorten the game to have any choice. Hey, by the way, thanks for all the questions Mike.
Kirk M. I'm in a 12 deep league that requires a TE. I currently have Antonio Gates, who is questionable for week 3, and Eric Johnson, SF, who has been playing pretty well. Both seem to be poised for good years withing their respective offenses. Because of the depth of the league, there isn't much else to choose from. Should I chance Antonio this week and who should I count on going forward? I don't think I'll be able to hold on to both for the season because of a short bench and some bye considerations.
(2:40 P.M. ET) Play Gates. With the Chargers lacking gifted or athletic receivers Gates has become a critical part of the offense. Getting the ball to Gates downfield keeps the safeties out of the box to set up Tomlinson.
Akron, OH Who has the best Fantasy Football game on the Internet?
(2:48 P.M. ET) When in doubt, go with the worldwide leader in sports – ESPN has a reasonably priced game that follows a conventional and easily manageable format.
Mike P, Findlay, OH What is Tim Couch doing?
(2:53 P.M. ET) Couch had a terrible preseason with the Packers and was released. He has injury concerns that contributed to his preseason non-performance that is believed to be a dead arm. He will probably show up on some team before the season is over. Rumor has it that Tony dungy and the Colts are interested in him as a backup.
Dale, Lincoln Park, MI Do you think the Detroit Lions has a chance this year?
(2:59 P.M. ET) We’ve thought all along the Lions were shooting for a .500 season. Their 2-0 start out of the gate gives them a better shot at making it to .500 but they won’t do much better. Roy Williams is looking great!
(3:05 P.M. ET) We didn’t get to share David T’s comments about Ricky Williams bonus payback, but David should be sure to share his Pepsi – congratulations on winning our weekly prize package and keep participating! Thanks for all the positive feedback and questions. The Loose Piggy. Permanent Link
