If fantasy football is your game, The Loose Piggy chitchat forum on toledoblade.com is the place to be to discuss drafts, stats, trades, and injury updates.
(2:00 P.M. ET) Welcome to NFL week 9 fantasy football fans—and to The Loose Piggy on toledoblade.com!
(2:01 P.M. ET) Sit ‘em if you got ‘em: Atlanta, Green Bay, Tennessee, and Jacksonville.
Stephanie, Akron, OH Do you think Ohio has any winning teams this season?
(2:05 P.M. ET) We think you’re thirsty for some Pepsi, but thanks for the question Stephanie. The Piggy can barely remember the last time Ohio had any winning teams—and it hurts to think that hard. So we’ll leave it at that, since it appears there’s not much hope for this year either. Unless you were referring to the likes of UT or BGSU…
DK Should I start Anquan Boldin at MIA?
(2:10 P.M. ET) While we’re glad to see him return, and he’ll likely pick up his game later in the year—he’s playing a Miami defense that’s stingy on WRs. Hines Ward had the best game against them this year with unspectacular results and only three WRs have gotten double-digit FFL point against them so far. Keep him on the bench this week.
Mike D. Just wondering what you thought about Krenzel’s game last Sunday: 13 of 25 passes for 168 yards with a touchdown and an interception?
(2:18 P.M. ET) Hmmm… first Big Ben, now Krenzel—maybe we should have you as our QB scout. Not only did Krenzel share the field with David Terrell, he also handed the ball off to the A-Train. Just seems strange. We still don’t like Kenzel for fantasy purposes and we don’t think he will have a significant impact on the Bears win-loss record either; but we’ve been wrong before.
Jack Who will be the biggest fantast star on Monday night when the Vikings take on the Colts?
(2:25 P.M. ET) With Moss questionable and Green Bay looming next week as the game, we look for Tice to rest Randy. So as a fall back, guess we’ll have to go with Manning and the usual 3 TDs and + 300 yards.
Assault (Sylvania, OH) Is Roy Williams safe to add back to my roster yet?
(2:32 P.M. ET) Well, do you feel lucky? Williams has been a terrific rookie for the Lions, however the injury has created a rollercoaster of intrigue for fantasy owners. We’re setting at a about a 70% chance of him playing. That being said—he is playing Washington and on top of the injury concerns the Redskins defense has been pretty good.
Spike (Maumee, OH) What two players were the two off-season acquisitions to have the biggest impact on their new teams this year?
(2:40 P.M. ET) T.O. is obvious as the Eagles now finish drives and put 7 on the board. Next we have a chicken or egg situation: Has Deuce Staley smoothed Big Ben’s transition or has # 7 forced the safety out of the box and given Deuce room to run? Either way the Steelers are at a higher level than expected due to the incredible balance.
Toledo What do you think of woodward the last 4 games?
(2:43 P.M. ET) We try not to.
Lois, Toledo, OH Who is the only NFL team undefeated?
(2:46 P.M. ET) If you’re a Pittsburgh fan you probably know the answer to this question–the Steeler’s go straight from beating undefeated New England to facing the only remaining undefeated team—Philadelphia. The battle for Pennsylvania should be epic.
(2:54 P.M. ET) Thanks for the questions and comments this week—and congratulations to Tammy of Toledo for winning our Pepsi prize pack—we’ll be in touch. Tammy, we didn’t get to your question yet but here we go with a top-of-mind answer…
Tammy, Toledo, OH What teams (not rookie teams) have never been to a Super Bowl?
(2:59 P.M. ET) Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans (+ Oilers), Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Indianapolis Colts. Check that though—The Piggy. Permanent Link
