If fantasy football is your game, The Loose Piggy chitchat forum on toledoblade.com is the place to be to discuss stats, trades, and injury updates.
(2:00 P.M. ET) Welcome to NFL week 13 fantasy football fans—and to The Loose Piggy on toledoblade.com! Let’s get to chatting about fantasy football.
Jim, Sylvania, OH Will Brees keep it going for the rest of this season?
(2:05 P.M. ET) Brees has been one of the biggest fantasy bargains this year along with Rueben Droughns, Tiki Barber, Javon Walker and the other San Diego Bolt—Antonio Gates. This week doesn’t present Brees a great match-up, but he should have a better outing than their first meeting against Denver. He’s performed as a top 10 QB—so we think he’ll be a good one for the remainder of the season.
Paul G, Toledo, OH Need to start two RB's. I have C. Dillon, B. Westbrook, T. Barber and A. Green. I know Green is hurting but I'm not sure about Barber. He has been a dud the last few weeks. Your advice got me two TD's by WR M. Muhammad two weeks ago so I'm hoping for some more Piggy magic!
(2:14 P.M. ET) Thanks for the positive feedback—we hope this brings you the same grand performance: Tiki is nicked up and going against a tough Redskins defense. Green is a question mark to play. We are going with going with Dillon and Westbrook. Dillon is facing a team that gave up 58 points last week in the Cleveland Browns and Westbrook has been playing a hot hand as of late.
John, Toledo, OHHow many points will P. Manning be good for this week?
(2:21 P.M. ET) Well, John, in fantasy football that would depend on your scoring rules—but here’s what we think about Manning in general: This is going to be an off week for him. Yea, that’s right—you know, he’ll only score about 4 TD’s and rack up 250 yards—not the performance he had in Detroit last week. Amazingly, if he gets those 4TD’s it will be his sixth consecutive game with at least 4 touchdowns.
Mike D, Stryker, OHHow Does the firing of Butch Davis affect, if at all, the fantasy players on the Cleveland Browns?
(2:32 P.M. ET)The Cleveland Browns are not a well you want to go to for your fantasy squad. That was true with Davis and it will be True with Robiskie. Last weeks 48 paints was an anomaly, in our opinion. You will not see anywhere near that on a consistent basis going forward.
(2:36 P.M. ET) Sorry folks, the Piggy was up late in Detroit last night cheering on the UT Rockets—and seem to be a bit slower this week.
Todd, Toledo, OHI need three receivers from Horn, Wayne, R. Smith and K. Robinson. Who should I start this week?
(2:41 P.M. ET) We like Horn, Wayne and Smith in that order. Those three have put up pretty good numbers so far this year and should continue to do so.
Spike, Maumee, OHWith the start of John Navarre this week for Arizona at Ford Field do you think the potential to have 4 starting QB’s from Michigan in the NFL is an indication of a dynasty?
(2:46 P.M. ET) Now that’s what we’re talking about—wouldn’t it be great! You must have read an earlier column to know our affinity for Michigan (Go Blue). Tom Brady, Brian Griese, Drew Henson and John Navarre… Who’s next, Chad Henne.
Mike D, Stryker, OH Is there a better TE in the league for fantasy than Tony Gonzales?
(2:54 P.M. ET) Why yes there is! Here’s the two-for for Mike D… On an even playing fied we would take former Golden Flash Antonio Gates this season. So far he is putting up unbelievable stats this year. The Piggy fortunate to have two TE’s on the roster this season—those two, so we’re sure on this.
(3:00 P.M. ET) Congrats to Carol S who loves Pepsi—you win and we’ll be in touch soon. Enjoy! Thanks for all the great questions and feedback. Permanent Link
