NIE special feature sections

Make your Black History Month lessons swing this year with a special section
“Cool Art and Hot Jazz”

This special section explores African American Culture through the evolution of music from jazz and blues to hip hop through the art of Lee Friedlander, a photographer of American musicians for Atlantic Records from the 1950s to the 1970s.

Presented by The Toledo Museum of Art and The Blade’s Newspaper in Education Program.

Delivered to your classroom at no charge, on Tuesday, February 3, 2004.

To place an order for your school or class, call The Blade’s Newspaper in Education Department at 419-724-6157 or email dgeyer@toledoblade.com.

The Great Lakes Invasion Special School Section

This 18-page supplement focuses on exotic aquatic species and information about environmental concerns for young people. This is an excellent tool to assist in the understanding of nuisance species.

If you cannot attend the workshop, you may still order classroom copies of the special section. Available to schools in the Toledo Blade circulation area, the section will be delivered on Tuesday, February 24, 2004. Call NIE office at 419-724-6157 or email Debby Geyer at dgeyer@toledoblade.com for your classroom copies.
