Great Lakes: Findlay rolls behind Johann

SANDUSKY - Kyle Johann threw two touchdown passes and ran for three more scores as Findlay rolled over Sandusky 51-0 last night.

Johann completed 24 of 33 passes for 259 yards for the Trojans (8-1, 4-0), including a 44-yard TD pass to Tyler Curlis and a 15-yarder to Matt Wittenmyer. Curlis also returned a kick 70 yards for a score.

The Blue Streaks (3-6, 1-3) had 20 yards rushing and 125 passing.

Akron SV-SM 14, Clay 13

Brandon Hedges scored on a one-yard run for the Eagles with about 50 seconds to play, but the Fighting Irish's interior line blocked the extra-point attempt to hold on for the victory.

St. Vincent-St. Mary (5-4), which rushed for 247 yards, got a six-yard scoring pass in the second quarter to tie the game, then went ahead on Jared Villers' 15-yard TD run in the third.

Eric Harpel caught a six-yard pass from Brian McDougle in the first quarter to give Clay (6-3) the early lead. But McDougle was injured at the end of the first half after going 4-for-4 for 30 yards passing. Clay gained 106 yards on the ground.

Hedges led the Eagles with 82 yards rushing on 18 carries. Villers rushed 28 times for 145 yards for the Irish.

Ross Graham blocked a 24-yard field goal attempt at the end of the first half for Clay.

Lakewood St. Ed 68, Whitmer 14

Lakewood St. Edward rolled up 477 yards on the ground as Damien Pride gained 147 on 13 carries and Ray Small ran for 133 on 17. Each scored three touchdowns.

Edwin Hood gained 106 yards on 22 carries for Whitmer, including a five-yard touchdown run.

Whitmer's other score came on a 67-yard pass from Chad Sharp to Chris Watkins.

Fostoria 34, Fremont Ross 0

FOSTORIA - Lee Vitte made four carries count - 109 yards and two touchdowns plus a TD reception - for the Redmen.

Vitte scored on runs of 46 and 50 yards and caught a scoring strike of 36 yards from Bill Myers.

Tremain Jackson had 106 yards on 20 carries for Fostoria (5-4, 2-2).

The Redmen had 468 total yards to 82 for Fremont Ross (0-9, 0-4).
